Leo, Ida, Zoe, Jasper, Roland, and William in South Africa

Jasper had two distinct periods in my life.

When Zoe and I were kids we knew him as an elder brother until he moved to London, some memories are quite clear – one being nonsense on the road which was the noise of the car travelling and turning on gravel roads. Photos of Mom, Dad, Jasper, Roland, Zoe and I on the beach in Cape Town at various times are times less well remembered.

The second period was meeting in Hull in 1974 on Glyn’s and my first trip overseas and quite a number of more trips to UK and USA as well as visits from both Jasper and Roland with their families to Australia. We always enjoyed a renewal of family friendship and seeing the development of my nieces and nephews.

Sadly our overseas travels ended in 1999 and we did not meet again. I have a dislike of social media, so exchanges were limited. Luckily I met Max, Orion and Jessie as young adults when they came to visit me on the farm.
